The Paralympics
The Paralympics is a gathering of athletes with disabilities and are held every 4 years. There are both Summer and Winter Paralympic Games and they are usually held right after the traditional Olympic Games have ended. Some of the individual events at the Paralympics include:
Goal Ball
Goal ball is a sport which is played by athletes who have visual impairments- either partial vision or no vision at all. The game is played by trying to roll the Bell Ball past your opponents and into the net. Players need to listen to the sound of the ball, relying only on their listening skills to locate the ball and try to stop it before it crosses the net.

Adapted Physical Education
What is Adapted PE Class?
Some of you at Bay know and have been to Adapted PE! Adapted PE is a class for students who have a disability. A disability is a physical or mental condition which can make things more difficult for a person. Adapted PE students still practice the same skills General Ed students work on, just in a slightly different way. Adapted PE class is a place where ALL students get to work and learn together. |
